Land-Based, Water Catchment

This article is not complete, this is strictly a preview.

Water catching land features (swales, dams, check-dams, terraces, natural valleys, roads…) are just like retirement funds. But our lifetime is one year, and from the beginning to the end of our rainy season is our career. Our goal is to save, store and capture as much rain while its falling, to rollover and slowly be used until the close of the growing season. This is done by infiltrating the water as deep as possible into the land. This extends the lifecycle of the watershed by weeks and in some cases months. Water moves through sub-soil very slowly, and frequently forms micro-aquifers and exchanges through fractures in the bedrock.
